Our Services
What We Offer
From first consultation to final handover, Nordic Interior Studio delivers considered, cohesive spaces. Each engagement is shaped around your home, your rhythms, and your vision of calm.
Full Apartment Design
A complete interior transformation from layout planning to final styling. We design every room as part of a unified whole, so the space reads as quiet, considered, and coherent throughout.
Space Planning
We map the flow and function of your home, ensuring every square metre earns its place. Furniture arrangements, circulation paths, and light studies are resolved before a single piece is selected.
Material & Furniture Curation
We source light-wood joinery, natural textiles, and furniture from Scandinavian makers whose craft aligns with the Nordic ethos. Each selection is chosen for longevity, tactility, and tonal restraint.
Styling & Finishing
The final layer of a project: art placement, soft furnishings, ceramics, and considered objects that give a space its character without adding visual noise.
Design Consultation
A focused session for clients who need strategic direction without a full project commitment. Ideal for single-room refreshes, purchasing guidance, or a second opinion on an existing scheme.
Remote Design
Full-service design delivered digitally for clients outside Oslo. We work through measured drawings, video walkthroughs, and detailed specification packages to achieve precision at a distance.
Nordic Sourcing
Materials Chosen with Care
We travel to Scandinavian makers, visit workshops in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, and select materials that carry the character of the north: pale ash and oak, undyed wool and linen, stone surfaces worn smooth by time.
Each material enters our palette because it ages honestly and improves with use. We avoid trends in favour of a disciplined tonal language: warm whites, raw naturals, and one considered accent that anchors the whole.
Light-Wood Joinery
Ash, birch, and white oak sourced from certified Scandinavian mills.
Natural Textiles
Undyed wool, linen, and cotton from heritage weavers in Scandinavia.
Maker Partnerships
Long-term relationships with independent craftspeople and small studios.
How We Work
From First Call to Final Room
Our process is structured so you always know what comes next. Below is the editorial sequence for a full apartment design engagement. Consultation-only and remote projects follow a condensed version of the same steps.
01
Initial Consultation
A 60-minute discovery conversation, in person or over video, in which we listen to how you live, what draws you to Nordic design, and what the space currently lacks. No brief required beforehand.
02
Site Survey & Brief
We visit the apartment to take measurements, photograph existing conditions, and assess natural light across the day. A detailed design brief is then drafted and shared for your approval.
03
Concept Development
We develop a spatial concept, mood board, and preliminary floor plan. The concept presentation includes material direction, a tonal palette, and a preliminary furniture scheme for your review.
04
Design Development
Following approval, we develop full interior drawings, detailed specifications, and a curated product schedule with Scandinavian sourcing options at each budget tier.
05
Procurement & Coordination
We place all orders on your behalf, coordinate lead times with suppliers, and liaise directly with tradespeople and installers so nothing falls between the cracks.
06
Handover & Styling
On the day of handover, we style every surface and finish the space exactly as designed. You arrive to a home that is complete, not a space in progress.
Common Questions
Everything You Need to Know
If your question isn't answered below, we're always happy to speak directly.
How long does a full apartment project take?
A full apartment engagement typically runs 12 to 20 weeks from site survey to handover, depending on apartment size and the complexity of custom joinery or long lead-time items. We provide a project timeline at the design development stage so you always have a clear picture of the schedule.
What is the typical project budget?
Design fees start at NOK 85,000 for a consultation and space planning package. Full apartment projects vary significantly based on scope, finishes, and whether structural changes are involved. We are transparent about costs at every stage and will not progress to the next phase without your sign-off on the budget.
Which cities and regions do you serve?
Our studio is based in Oslo and we take on in-person projects across Norway. For clients in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, or other European cities, we offer our full remote design service, which delivers an equivalent level of detail and care through digital collaboration tools and supplier visits on your behalf.
Can the entire project be managed remotely?
Yes. Remote engagements are a core service, not an afterthought. We begin with a video walkthrough, request measured drawings or arrange for a local surveyor, and deliver the complete design package digitally. Procurement is handled through our supplier network, with deliveries coordinated to your address. The only difference is we do not attend the final styling in person for remote projects.
Do you work with existing furniture or start from scratch?
Both approaches are welcome. During the site survey we assess existing pieces for quality, proportion, and tonal fit. Items that work within the Nordic scheme are retained and integrated; anything that doesn't is phased out on a timeline that suits your budget. We never recommend replacing something unless it genuinely improves the outcome.
What does a consultation-only engagement include?
A standalone consultation lasts 90 minutes at your home or over video. Afterwards, you receive a written summary with our spatial recommendations, a curated mood board, and a shortlist of furniture and material sources. It is designed for clients who prefer to manage implementation themselves but want professional strategic input to get started with confidence.
